Lisa Raum, MS, RD is a registered dietitian and a nutrition affairs program manager for the Southeast Dairy Association. She is responsible for providing education to health professionals and the general public about the importance of dairy in the diet through speaking engagements, television and radio appearances, and in print media communication as well as social media.
Lisa has more than 20 years of experience in the field of nutrition in various inpatient and outpatient healthcare settings, and as the owner of a private practice providing medical nutrition therapy to individuals and onsite consulting services for corporate wellness programs. She also has been a collegiate-level adjunct instructor in health sciences since 2008.
Lisa began her academic career by attending culinary arts school, followed by receiving her Associate in Applied Science degree in Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Management (with a specialization in Dietetics). This was followed by a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Health Sciences and a year of clinical rotations throughout various health care facilities in Virginia. Lisa also holds a Master’s of Science degree in General Psychology and a second Master’s of Science degree in Food Science and Human Nutrition.
Her multifaceted background in culinary arts, fitness and both health and behavioral sciences converge in her passion for the promotion of healthy lifestyles.
